SpletThis antique stoneware crock/jug was made by Lamson & Swasey of Portland Maine. It has a beautiful beige salt glaze and the makers mark is highlighted in blue cobalt. The original cork is intact and 'stuck' in the crock It measures 11 1/2" x 7 1/4" It suffers no large chips or cracks/hairline. The handle is offset by design but sturdy and strong. The Lamson & Swasey pieces were only made for very short period of time from 1886 to 1890. This crock is in excellent condition, with a couple exceptions.
