WebHi, My 2011 Suburban has a stock trans cooler built into the radiator. My question is when I install a seperate transmission cooler should I bypass the one built into the radiator. My friend says I should because if the radiator ever leaks into the tansmission fluid it could be disasterous. Thanks, asked by: B. M WebNoob here. Now, I am confused. I thought the whole point of adding the external cooler was to bypass the radiator so that you could avoid the milkshake. The only other reason I see to add one is for towing purposes or if you have issues with overheating. I live in Colorado and make frequent trips to the mountains.
